Staff:

You may e-mail the following staff members through our general mailbox.

David Lanning is CTI's President and has been on staff with the ministry since 1995. Though a native of North Carolina, his accent is fairly "Minne-southern" at this point (go ahead and e-mail him if you don't get it.)  He is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, with degrees in Music Education, French and Chemistry. He and his wife Margaret are proud parents of a son, Benjamin, and daughters, Sydney and Rachel. David enjoys teaching, performing, and being a father and husband.

Donna Miller is CTI's Vice-President in Charge of Business and Finance.  She joined CTI Music Ministries in 1992 having previously worked in private industry. Donna and her husband, Larry, live on a farm where they enjoy sharing many hobbies.

Marcia Roorda is CTI's Booking Director. Marcia toured with a Carpenter's Tools High School team to Germany in 19xx. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education with experience both as a classroom teacher and a music teacher in Wisconsin & Vermont. When not booking concerts for CTI, Marcia enjoys spending time with her husband, Peter and four beautiful children.

Melody Williams is CTI's Recruiting Director. She and her husband Tim live on a hobby farm and apple orchard. They have four wonderful children. Melody enjoys activities with her family, sports, gardening, reading and quilting.

Chris Reed, CTI's Program Director, manages our fulltime program and international partnerships.  He grew up* in South Pasadena, CA, but left a more recent home in Raleigh, NC to join CTI's office staff after spending two years as a team member.  Chris worked previously in broadcast engineering, live event production, and sound system design/installation.  He likes the outdoors, playing the piano, drinking coffee, using big words, remodeling his 600sq.ft. house, and creating problems for Dan to solve.

*the definition for the term as applied in this setting is still being debated by CTI.

Emma Thompson Meyer serves double duty as a volunteer in both the Program and Booking Departments of CTI. Hailing from Massachusetts, she received her bachelor’s degree in music from Susquehanna University in PA.  After she and her husband Daniel (see below) toured with CTI's Full Time program in 2003-2004, they served as leaders to CTI's Team Mexico in the summer of 2004.  When not at the CTI building, she spends time doing artsy projects, cooking, and enjoys shopping for food to feed our hungry fulltime team members (well, maybe "enjoy" isn't quite the word, but she is rather good at it!)

Deshi Scrabeck works in the recruiting department, alongside her mother, Melody.  Deshi recently moved back into the area after living in Indiana for 5 years where she worked at a Boys and Girls Club, mainly as the Program Director.  She has a wonderful husband named Mike and a pretty cute cat!  Deshi enjoys trying new things and traveling.

Daniel Meyer volunteers in facilities maintenance and other ambiguous areas of need.  He grew up in northern Wisconsin, the second oldest of 10 children, enjoying such activities as family soccer games, camping (winter too!) dog sledding and snowboarding.  He met his wife while ministering with Youth Encounter.  They subsequently joined CTI as full-time team members in '03-'04.  Daniel & Emma relocated to Willmar after full-time where he now works at the local hardware store.  In his spare time he enjoys playing bass guitar and solving problems.

Joe VanderArk, CTI’s development director, joined the organization in November of 2006.  He was born in Willmar, Minnesota, the home of CTI, but moved to Bozeman, Montana after a year of kindergarten.  After being raised in the Rocky Mountains, he moved back to Minnesota to attend Northwestern Bible College in Saint Paul where he earned a degree in business marketing.  Before joining CTI, he worked as an outside salesman for both a pharmaceutical company and an exercise equipment company.  Joe has been a proud husband to Melanie since the summer of ’04.  He enjoys drumming, basketball, volleyball, almost any outdoor activity, and laughing really hard.
