History:
The Carpenter's Tools began in 1975 with two high school singing groups as a part of West Central Youth for Christ (YFC) in Willmar, Minnesota.
Seven years later in 1982, the group received an invitation to go to China, marking the beginning of our independent full-time ministry organization, Carpenter's Tools International (CTI). A full-time team was created to travel around the United States during the school year and spend approximately two months in ministry to foreign nations.
CTI was officially incorporated in 1989 as a sovereign organization from YFC, though still in affiliation with Youth for Christ International.
In 1990, CTI began recruiting, training, and sending short-term ministry teams for overseas evangelism during the summer months. In 1991, a second full-time group was established to tour during the school year.
In 2001, Carpenter's Tools International began to do business as CTI Music Ministries to better inform and engage young musicians, churches, and international ministry partners in the ministry medium that we use - music!
Today, we send 5-8 teams to minister internationally during the summer months. Two music teams travel across the United States & Canada during the school year. Typically, these teams spend one month in the late fall ministering internationally as well.
